Improv Kitchen

suddenlyLISTEN's Improv Kitchens are held on the last Monday of each month, and are led by the amazing vocalist Meghan Gilhespy! Meghan describes the Kitchen as: "The evening unfolds in two parts: First, we work through some games to get warmed up, to expand our sound palates, and hopefully challenge and surprise ourselves! The second half consists of free play - we create multiple pieces collectively as a group. Some really compelling music making has been taking place in the last few sessions."

These open sessions bring together improvisers from across the wide spectrum of improvised musics in Halifax, with the goal of generating challenging free music and building connections across the community.
