On Tuesday, November 17, the Bozzini Quartet of Montreal and friends Suzanne Lemieux, Dominic Desautels, Susan Sayle and Norman Adams will be presented in concert by suddenlyLISTEN Music.
Quatuor Bozzini is in Halifax to perform on the suddenlyLISTEN Series, at The Music Room for Scotia Festival, and to give a workshop at The Fountain School of the Arts. They are a group of fierce innovators who, since 1999 have been taking risks and venturing happily into musical territory seldom visited: The Quartet has commissioned over 130 new works and premiered almost 200.

This concert will consist of 3 works by 3 important composers: Cornelius Cardew, Christian Wolff, and Jean Derome. Each piece is scored in a different way, and involves a complete interpretation by each performer (meaning there’s a lot of improvisation and listening going on!) Over the next few days I will write a bit about each piece to help entice you to come to this very exciting concert! As if you didn’t have reason enough already….. More to come!
